About the Job
Marous Brothers Construction Site Division, located in Willoughby, Ohio is accepting applications for a Traveling Earthwork Foreman.
- The foreman will be responsible for setting up cuts and fills, planning haul routes and maintaining haul roads, roughing/grading and working with inspectors to ensure fills meet project specifications.
- Maintains a working knowledge of related plans and specifications, contractual requirements, and schedule.
- Provides status updates and/or communicates any issues with the superintendent and project manager.
- Makes recommendations on how to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Works with superintendent to schedule employees and equipment to keep utilization rates high.
- Communicates with vendors and subcontractors as it relates to earthwork and grading, such as aggregate suppliers or blasting subcontractors.
- Ensures the safety of all employees and personnel on site, by maintaining compliance with all applicable OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ALL as-builts and documentation
- Other duties as assigned.
Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five plus years previous heavy civil construction experience.
- Ability to read and interpret grading plans, specifications, and geotechnical information.
- Ability to effectively communicate computer skills (written and orally).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong time management and leadership skills.
- Experience with grade checking to meet project plans and specifications utilizing a variety of methods including GPS, rotating laser, stakes and cut sheets, etc.
- Fundamental knowledge of GPS equipment as it applies to grading, machine control and rover.
