Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and do security checks. In factories, warehouses and offices. Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises.
Available Positions: Truck Gate Officer
Truck Gate:
- Monitoring and Controlling Medium to High Volume Access: Checking in and out personnel, visitors, and vehicles. Ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
- Surveillance: Observing and reporting any suspicious activities. This often involves monitoring CCTV/Security cameras.
- Traffic Control: Directing and managing the flow of vehicles, especially in busy areas.
- Check in and out truck loads and check in contractors.
- Reporting: Documenting incidents, irregularities, and any breaches of security protocols.
- Customer Service: Assisting visitors with directions and information and providing a point of contact for employees and delivery personnel.
- Enforcing Rules: Ensuring that policies, procedures and regulations are followed.
Responsibilities:
Observation and Vigilance:
- Must remain alert at all times, observe their surroundings, looking for signs of suspicious activity, potential threats, or disorderly conduct.
- Acknowledge unusual activities and investigate further or report it to the appropriate authorities.
Access Control:
- Responsible for monitoring access points. Check tickets, passes, or identification to ensure only authorized individuals enter the station.
- Unauthorized individuals or trespassers are promptly addressed and removed from the premises.
Emergency Response:
- In case of emergencies (medical incidents, accidents, fires, etc.), must be able to take swift action. Assist with evacuations, provide first aid, or call for help.
- Familiarity with emergency protocols and communication systems is essential.
Crime Prevention and Deterrence:
- Be able to act as a visible deterrent against criminal activity to ensure the safety of others
- Conduct patrols on all platforms, parking lots, and other areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or other crimes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Must be able maintain detailed records of incidents, disturbances, or any unusual occurrences.
- Accurate note-taking helps with investigations and ensures proper follow-up.
Customer Service:
- Able to interact with commuters, providing assistance and information when needed.
- Politeness, patience, and clear communication are essential for positive interactions.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CA BSIS Guard Card.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Computer Skills.
- Familiarity with report writing.
- Monitoring and surveillance experience.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks.
- 1 Year minimum security guard or customer service experience.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check screening.
