Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to provide supervision for our clients and to ensure their safety while building a rapport with them. This includes providing assistance to each client during school and in handling individual problems; responsibility for setting of limits for behavior; creating documentation of the clients' progress; identifying the possible need for professional services and communications of such findings to professional staff.
Essential Duties:
Actively work alongside teacher pair to grade written assignments or teacher scored assessments.
Consistently monitor and collect data for each client. This includes: maintaining the Excel spreadsheet for academic progress, taking attendance, and assisting with daily check-ins and goal setting forms.
Draft weekly progress reports, which will be sent out by the classroom teacher.
Input case notes into EMR prior to treatment team meetings.
Collect classroom inventory - school supplies, paper, pencils, etc.
Practice compliance with all policies and record keeping requirements.
Remain current and up to date on all trainings (HealthStream, CPR, CPI, etc.) and certifications required to maintain employment with Newport Academy.
Qualifications
Basic Education and Experience Required:
H.S. Degree or GED required
Bachelor's level degree in Mathematics/Science or related field preferred
Prior work experience in other behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents a plus.
