About Galin Education
Galin Education (www.galined.com) is an education company that works with students as they prepare for and apply to college. We work with students one-on-one and in small groups for tutoring, test prep, and admissions counseling for college and graduate school. Galin Education also works with a variety of education organizations throughout the country, including schools, camps, and educational technology companies.
Description
The Galin Education fellowship program provides high achieving recent college graduates with an opportunity to work closely with high school students and their families as they go through school and the college admissions process. Galin Fellows commit to one or two years with the organization providing tutoring, coaching, and mentoring to high school students, in mostly one-on-one environments.
Fellows spend about half of their day working directly with students, helping them to learn content and strategies for standardized admissions exams (ACT/SAT), tutoring them in math, science, or foreign languages, and/or working with them to develop better executive functioning and study skills. The remainder of the day, Fellows work with our Directors to learn other aspects of the organization. This may include curriculum research, marketing and engagement, resource development, and/or developing community partnerships.
Fellows may be part or full-time (20-40 hours per week) and are expected to work a schedule that includes evenings and weekends. This may allow fellows to take morning courses, complete graduate school applications, and/or take on other part-time jobs
