The Department of Surgery is actively recruiting for an Administrative Assistant. This Autonomous position provides administrative support to surgeons in the Division of Vascular Surgery and perform various duties for clinical, academic, research, and public service activities in order to optimize time spent by these doctors on administrative matters.Entity

Job Description
Pay Range:
$32,686.00 - $46,578.00 - $60,471.00 (min - mid - max)
Job Duties:
20% - Serves as an Administrative Assistant to surgeons within the Division of Vascular Surgery. Coordinates schedules, including scheduling meetings, preparing travel arrangements. Maintains calendars and assembles all appropriate information for upcoming meetings. Briefs physician prior to meetings.
20% - Manages patient referrals ensuring that all outside records are reviewed and appropriate ancillary tests have been requested. Enter orders for vascular labs into EPIC. Check fax at specified intervals of the day.
20% - Responsible for scheduling and coordinating patient surgeries, diagnostic tests, or other ancillary procedures. Updates the Vascular Registry database and Pathways database.
15% - Manages and schedules clinic appointments, revises clinic schedules as necessary, reviews clinics prior to clinic date to ensure that they are scheduled appropriately. Reconcile the Beaufort outreach clinic arrival process.
10% - Coordinates all administrative requirements of faculty member i.e. track CME credits, assist with applications and licenses, coordinate reimbursements, triage phone calls, sort and respond to mail correspondence.
10% - Manage the dictation of surgeons and clinical support personnel. Upload, proof and fax clinic notes to referring and consulting physicians.
5% - Responsible for scanning all new patient consults. Keep scanning up to date per file as additional records are received on patient.

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and two years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Some positions require a valid driver's license and good driving record; or correctable vision of 20/40 in both eyes, with or without conventional lenses, and physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Section 391.41; or AAVMA certification. Some positions require eligibility for bonding.
