We are looking for a US Project Manager
Scope of the job
We are seeking a Project Manager to support our Business Operations Lead in managing and enabling our expansion into the Asian markets, including the launch of early-stage clinical trials. This role will be critical in supporting the legal and operational establishment of our presence in China.
Your role
Assisting the Expansion of Galapagos into Asia:
- Support the establishment of legal entities, manufacturing facilities, and early-stage clinical trials.
- Schedule and coordinate cross-functional team meetings internally and externally with overseas teams and partners, managing time zone differences.
- Translate Chinese documents into English and vice versa, ensuring seamless communication between teams.
- Support evaluations of various international vendors, CROs, CDMOs, and service providers.
Clinical Studies and Business Development Support:
- Assist with the execution of early clinical studies in Asia.
- Support the Business Operations Lead in preparing and reviewing Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) and coordinate initial screening meetings for business opportunities in the Cell Therapy space before routing to BD teams.
Project Coordination and Communication:
- Develop and manage project timelines, track progress, and follow up on action items to ensure all key deliverables are met.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and create presentations for senior management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to align on objectives and ensure successful project execution.
- Communicate effectively across departments, including Preclinical, Clinical, Manufacturing, QA, HR, Finance, Legal, and Business Development teams.
- Support your line manager’s expense reports.
Who are you?
Experience:
- 3-6 years of experience in project management or related functions (e.g. AM, EA), preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Prior experience managing projects in an international context, particularly involving Asia, is highly desirable.
- Ability to work across different time zones.
Education:
- A Master’s degree, preferably in biopharma/biotech-related fields.
- An MBA is an asset.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, with the ability to translate documents and facilitate communication across teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with a pragmatic and results-oriented mindset.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering outcomes.
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure, ensuring clarity and precision in communications.
- Experience working across cross-functional teams in a global environment.
- Understanding of the pharma or biotech industry, particularly regarding clinical trials and business operations.
