The Data Infrastructure team owns a suite of tools for data collection and transcription, research evaluation, and insights gathering. These tools are used by thousands of vendors, Client researchers, and data specialists to improve speech recognition and synthesis models which are critical to the success of Assistant and almost every client product that uses speech recognition or captioning.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Team is looking for a Qualitative UXR to help improve our existing set of data collection and transcription tooling.
- You ll be responsible for:
- Working closely with Eng on a newly developed experimentation framework.
- Working closely with UX, PgMs, and Eng to prioritize a large growing list of bug and feature requests for existing products
- Leading strategic, foundational and tactical research for the team.
- Collecting and analyzing user behavior through qualitative studies, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments.
- Further developing feedback channels for tracking satisfaction and usability over time - a recent UXR initiative developed for the team!
- B.A./B.S. (Completed) in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other related fields or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of professional (industry) experience with one or more of the following methods: usability studies, concept tests, benchmarks, diary studies, interviewing consumers (aka user interviews), field research, survey creation/analysis, in-person and remote research experience
- Can prioritize time between multiple projects and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
- Experience executing and shaping research programs in ambiguous spaces with the ability to work independently.
- Deep working knowledge and demonstrated practice of a wide range of research methodologies, their strengths/weaknesses, and when to apply them in the product life cycle.
- Excellent track record on working with designers, engineers, and other team members.
- Excellent written and spoken communication.
- Experience with speech, linguistics, Client, and/or workplace tool development
- BA/BS degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
