Project Overview:
In this vendor role supporting Google, you'll be diving into the world of user experience research. Your mission is to assist users as they navigate, explore, and accomplish tasks in the world through Google Maps. With over 1 billion users worldwide relying on Google Maps and its associated products like Google Earth, Maps API, and Enterprise solutions, your work will directly impact and enhance the experiences of millions.
As an experienced user experience researcher with expertise in mixed methods, you'll join a stellar team of UX researchers. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive research and help shape the future of navigation for users globally. You'll collaborate closely with senior researchers, integrating seamlessly into their programs to contribute your insights and expertise. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation, shaping the way people interact with maps and travel worldwide.
Job responsibilities
Plan and design effective user research
Conduct user research using a wide variety of qualitative research methods such as usability testing, moderated interviews, concept evaluation, surveys, and literature reviews
Analyze and report research findings, distilled into effectively communicated actionable insights and product recommendations
Required Skills:
M.A./M.S or PhD in either Experimental Psychology, Design Research, Human Factors, Social Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, etc), or other related fields or demonstrable equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of relevant applied experience conducting user research.
Solid experience with at least two or more of the following methods: usability studies, concept evaluations, competitive evaluations, literature reviews, diary studies, user interviews, surveys.
Strong ability to manage, synthesize, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
Ability to create effective visualizations (charts, plots, etc) as needed to best communicate data using software comfortable with (examples: Google Sheets, R, Python, etc).
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience creating visually polished, engaging and persuasive slide decks to communicate research findings
Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
