Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly qualified Urban Transit Planner IV- Infrastructure Engineering for our growing Arizona statewide transit systems / transportation engineering project work based out of AECOM's Phoenix, Az. office.
The Urban Transit Planner IV- Infrastructure Engineering will be entrusted with critical responsibilities that directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation systems. These responsibilities include:
+ Developing innovative solutions to complex multimodal transportation challenges
+ Conducting comprehensive research, data analysis, and environmental impact assessments with minimal supervision
+ Ensuring strict compliance with local, state, and Federal requirements through meticulous interpretation of relevant studies
+ Performing in-depth analysis of planning, land use, and transportation data to produce authoritative technical analyses, feasibility studies, and comprehensive plans
+ Spearheading the development of sophisticated modeling for travel time, ridership, and cost estimates for public transit projects
+ Directing the creation of high-quality reports and maps on diverse topics, demonstrating leadership and providing oversight to team members
+ Leading cutting-edge research and technical analyses in land use and multimodal transportation planning
+ Critically evaluating the feasibility and integrity of proposed planning products
+ Orchestrating agency stakeholder and public engagement initiatives
+ Delivering impactful presentations to diverse audiences
+ Demonstrating exceptional autonomy and self-direction in project execution
+ Managing interdisciplinary teams of technical specialists and overseeing their project-delivery efforts
+ Contributing to strategic proposals and business development initiatives
+ Providing authoritative oversight and mentorship to junior staff members
+ Exhibiting superior written and verbal communication skills
+ Thriving in a high-pressure, collaborative team environment
+ Executing additional high-priority tasks as assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
+ BA/BS or other post graduate degree in Planning, Policy, or related fields + 6+ Years of related experience and/ or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ AICP ceriufication highly preferred
+ MA/MS preferred in a related field
+ Strong technical writing and analysis skills
+ Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
+ Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skills
+ Experience and comfortability communicating with and presenting to both small and large public audiences.
+ Able to work independently but also collaborate closely with cross-discipline project teams to advance project goals.
+ Coursework and/or project experience in transit planning and policy foundations including transit network concepts, conducting qualitative and quantitative assessments, and awareness of public engagement best practices.
+ Experience with Federal transportation and rapid transit planning processes (e.g. bus rapid transit, light rail transit, commuter rail) including but not limited to, developing a Purpose and Need and advancing a project to a locally preferred alternative.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Basic proficiency with Geographic Information Systems such as ArcMap, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online.
+ Experience in preparing graphics and visuals for a technical and public audience.
