Used Car Manager/GSM
A client automotive group of gpac’s is looking to bring on a strong customer-facing used car manager/sales manager to their team. The ideal person is someone who has the “old school” mentality and work ethic, actively involved with customers, the sales team, and overseeing their dealerships daily used car operations and inventory. On any given day, the used car manager may need to answer questions about vehicle models and features for customers, provide detailed inventory information, financing options, and vehicle repair and maintenance information.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing deals.
- Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
- Desk both used and new car deals.
- Handle and resolve any customer issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist in hiring, training and effectively leading sales associates and ensures all dealership policies are always followed.
- Maintain inventory with a quick turn rate.
- Determine prices for used vehicles
- Research and source inventory
- Analyze the business to determine shortfalls and develop action plans to improve performance.
- Ensure high standards are held for delivery of vehicles to customers.
- Help manage all other aspects of the sales department.
- Set sales goals, track progress, and lead team to achieve and exceed those quotas.
- Perform high-quality, professional, and knowledgeable presentation and demonstration of new/used vehicles.
- Describe all optional equipment/products available for customer purchase.
- Offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
- Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
- Learn to overcome objections, close sales, and perform all other steps of the sales process in accordance with company standards.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must have prior experience as a used car sales manager at a dealership
- Ensure customer satisfaction by solving complaints and issues.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Sales and trend forecasting abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Quality customer service, communication, computer and basic math skills
- Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
- Must be interested in training additional sales associates and work within a team environment
