About the Job
Our client is hiring a VP of Operations / COO to oversee the day-to-day production, quality and scheduling at this organization. This is a great opportunity for a Director of Operations or Manufacturing Manager that is looking to advance their career! The VP of Operations will be overseeing 6 direct reports and nearly 200 indirect employees. You will report to the President and career growth into other C-suite roles is possible.

What you will be doing:
- Supervising the daily operations of the company and holding people accountable when necessary
- Overseeing the entire manufacturing operation, assessing needs and capabilities of each department
- Developing and implementing strategies, procedures and business plans needed to enhance company growth and productivity
- Establishing company goals, performance measurements and strategic growth, with a focus on quality improvement, lean manufacturing and taking care of the customers
- Reviewing and controlling production and departmental costs
- Working closely with the CEO and CFO on all matters related to the business
What they are looking for:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering a closely related degree
- At least 5 years in a supervision/management role in a metal manufacturing environment (cold forming or machining experience is required)
- Any experience in heat treating / plating processes a big plus
- Good lean manufacturing or Total Quality Management processes is needed
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are needed
- This person must have good people management skills
