Job Summary and Qualifications
The main job responsibility for the Vehicle Service Technician is to decrease the crew out of service time by eliminating the need for crews to inventory units, prevent equipment malfunctions through a preventative schedule and decrease the amount of lost unit hours due to equipment issues.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Inventory and re-stocking ambulances prior to units going in service with the necessary equipment/supplies per a pre-established par list.
- Co-ordinate maintenance of adequate supplies to avoid shortages with inventory control technician.
- Report any deficiencies, safety concerns and hazards to the on-duty captain.
- Complete inventory forms for each unit completely and accurately.
- Check oxygen pressure levels and replace if below pre-established amount.
- When taking inventory and restocking utilizes universal precautions.
- Stay versed with the needs and expectations of staff.
- Handle, dispose of and clean medical supplies and equipment without creating an undue exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- This position may occasionally require travel. Taking supplies to outlying stations as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School diploma/GED
- Colorado Driver’s License (current, valid and no restrictions)
- No DUI, DWAI, in the last 7 years
- Insurable with company insurance requirements
- Maintains a criminal background that meets the Company standards.
