Job Duties: This is currently a grant position which coordinates veteran's treatment court program admissions through collaboration with external and internal stakeholders; screens applicants for eligibility; interviews applicants using motivational interviewing techniques and identifies risks and needs; formulates eligibility recommendations to veteran's treatment court probation program and presents written and verbal recommendations to veteran's treatment court team. The VTC Coordinator shall oversee the VTC under the direction of the VTC Judge.
Tracks client compliance, performance, and progress through phases of program; prepares documents to be presented to court; processes files and phase tracking spreadsheet; provides guidance and direction to clients and prospective applicants; provides ongoing guidance and recommendations to veteran's treatment court team on program status of clients; and assesses as a committee member the continued status of clients in program. The VTC Coordinator shall act as a liaison to the VTC and follow state and National Court Standards.
Coordinates treatment court training activities for committee, local partners, and veteran mentors; sets up quarterly steering committee meetings; identifies and reports on federal grant status and private donation funding. Coordinates and engages in community outreach activities and prepares informational brochures and presentations to educate community partners.
The VTC Coordinator shall ensure that policies and procedures are followed while periodically reviewing all documents and procedures for continued applicability and efficacy. Compose policies, procedures, goals, objectives, mission statements, etc. Facilitates communication, develops MOU’s with providers, plan and coordinate VTC events - including graduations, maintains records and documentation, tracks data necessary for grant funding.
This is a grant funded position, which could be renewed after the year.
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, criminology, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field. Preferred military background.
