Veterinary Assistant I - The Pet Stop

The Pet Stop is currently looking for a certified or experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our exceptional team. We are a small animal practice that has been providing high quality veterinary care to Alaska since 1985. Our team includes four doctors who cater to the needs of dogs and cats. Our goal is to find a tech assistant who is interested in a long-term career in veterinary medicine that fits well with our team. This full time position allows for an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself and to utilize your skills.

Some of these skills and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Acting in a support role to doctors and technicians

• Communicating well with clients and team

• Client Education

• Laboratory work

• Radiology

• Surgery and procedure prep and sterilization procedures

• Daily, compassionate patient care

• Proper medical documentation

• Stocking hospital supplies

• Cleaning rooms, treatment areas and kennels

This position offers four 10 hour days (37-40 hours/ week) which helps to provide a better work/life balance.
