About the Job
We are a well-established small animal hospital (general practice) located in the heart of Alameda, California. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR)/Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis.
We are a busy practice operating from 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and we are fortunate to have amazing clients who are compliant and kind.
This position requires an individual to think critically, multi-task, and maintain tact and tolerance in times of increased workload. A professional and friendly nature are absolutely vital for this position. Skill-sets in the veterinary environment are incredibly helpful, and this candidate should be able to work independently, productively, and get along well with various personality types.
Our Receptionists/CSRs communicate in person, on the phone, and via email and text.
Our animal hospital is fun and professional. NO WEEKEND HOURS! This position would be perfect for an individual interested in working in a family-based fast-paced environment.
Veterinary Receptionist/CSR - Job Description
The Veterinary Receptionist/CSRs are the faces and the gatekeepers of our hospital and report directly to the Department Lead. They are essentially the first point of contact for clients and play a vital role in the flow of patients through the hospital.
In this role, staff are expected to perform clerical tasks to include, but limited to
· Maintaining efficient flow of clients.
· Providing support for client interactions in hospital ensuring exceptional customer service is provided
· Monitoring and maintaining hospital communications via phone, email, fax, text, etc.
· Prioritizing and assisting with the completion of tasks such as follow-ups, voicemail management, and prescription processing
· Elevating issues/concerns from clients to the level of the Department Lead or Hospital Manager if resolution is not achieved through effective communication
· Coordinating patient flow and appointments with Veterinarians and other support staff
· Checking patients in and out, and scheduling follow-ups and recheck appointments
· Communicating with veterinary professionals from partnering hospitals and other organizations
· Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the reception area
· Payment processing
2 years office/administrative/reception experience required
Hourly pay is based on Veterinary CSR Experience level specifically
