OVERVIEW :
The Vice President Provider Data Operations will serve as an essential part of the Provider Solutions & Operations (PS&O) leadership team, developing a provider data strategy to unlock Cigna's strategic plans leveraging networks and provider data capabilities for growth and monetization. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of PS&O, the Vice President will be primarily responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of provider data ingestion and maintenance. Additionally, will partner with other leaders across Technology and Operations to ensure that Cigna's capabilities and strategic partnerships are resulting in industry leading provider data capabilities and experience for all critical stakeholders. Their expertise will guide the organization's evolution to dramatically improved accuracy and compliance through enhanced data collection methodologies, and technologies. The long-term goal will be to simplify, accelerate and improve all facets of provider data across the organization.
Successful candidates will be able to articulate the differentiating value they will bring to the organization and how their experience can activate the overall vision of our provider data strategy. Candidates must be adept at change management, have a strong understanding of transformative technologies, and the ability to build strong teams and influence results in a highly matrixed environment. They must consciously and strategically balance possibilities with reality, which may involve a phased implementation of ideas and initiatives. The successful candidate will have a track record of building a network of champions for effective execution, both in and outside the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the Operations Teams responsible for provider data, inclusive of (but not limited to) credentialing, onboarding, loading, maintenance, network build and new solution delivery.
- Develop and execute on a provider data strategy that will result in industry-leading accuracy, experience and compliance for all stakeholders.
- Establish a Provider Data Governance process, which will create and implement enterprise-wide guidelines, controls and decision-making processes regarding the ingestion and maintenance of Provider Data.
- Develop and execute the provider data strategy, focusing on data needs specific to organizational priorities and business units (i.e. Operations, Growth Segments, Regulatory/Compliance, etc.).
- Oversee the collection, integration, and quality assurance of diverse provider data sources, including proprietary data sets, third party data, research data, and alternative data.
- Collaborate with Operations and Technology leads to identify opportunities (through artificial intelligence and other technology-enabled platforms) and drive innovation in provider data.
- Develop frameworks and methodologies for integrating and normalizing diverse data sets, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance policies, data standards, and data architecture frameworks.
Data Selection and Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate a wide range of traditional and non-traditional data sources.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the provider data landscape, staying informed about emerging data technologies, tools, and platforms while assessing their potential impact on data management and analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external data providers to ensure data sourcing aligns to our strategy.
- Collaborate with Technology colleagues to design and optimize data architectures, data pipelines, and data warehouses to support asset management needs.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Effectively lead a diverse set of operational functions in a manner that is aligned with PS&O's core tenants of trust, transparency and servant-leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional divisions, including development, delivery, operations, legal/compliance, clinical, business segments, etc., to ensure data needs are met and aligned with business objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- At least 15 years of experience, including significant time in progressively responsible senior operations and/or data management roles.
- Highly developed research and analysis skills with experience in a similar role.
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience related to operations, data analytics, and enterprise-wide collaboration.
- Strong expertise and knowledge in data management, data quality, data governance, and data architecture principles.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Independent and strategic problem solver; accountable for and skilled in exercising sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate across divisions to implement processes and achieve results. Track record of building and maintaining productive relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Professional organizations, or related associations are a plus.
- Validated attention to detail as well as effective time management abilities.
- Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of the curve in the data analytics field.
