About the Job
The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) leads the overall strategy and vision of developing, implementing, and managing the company's information technology department and goals. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the IT infrastructure supports the company's business objectives, enhances operational efficiency, maintains the organization's ERP system, and maintains security standards. The VP of IT will lead the IT department of six, with a hands-on approach to managing the technology resources and driving technological innovation across the organization of almost 400 employees.
Qualifications for VP of Information Technology:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Open to candidates who are currently in a Sr. Director role.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology
- A minimum of 6 years in a leadership role overseeing ERP systems and IT infrastructure
- Extensive previous IT project management experience
- In-depth knowledge of ERP platforms, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Results-driven attitude with the initiative to take on new responsibilities and independently manage assigned projects
- Experience leading a team, handling support requests and escalations in high-level technical support, and installation/troubleshooting of user-related applications
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Products, Windows operating systems, and E-mail products including Office 365, VMware and Citrix
- Experience with Lenovo SAN storage system, Firewall including multisite VPN connections, Microsoft Azure, and server hardware
- Expert understanding of network protocols, network architecture, client/server technology, and digital security
- Advanced analytic, written, and oral communication skills

Job Functions for a VP of Information Technology:
- Manages the IT Team, including but not limited to hiring, coaching, progressive discipline, and managing of time-off schedules while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development
- Collaborates and ensures execution of IT objectives and goals aligned with corporate strategies using a Balanced Scorecard methodology.
- Develop and execute the company's IT strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that drive business growth and efficiency.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
- Keeps abreast of current trends and advancements and relays updates as needed to the Executive Team to ensure improved productivity or lowered costs
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Reviews and analyzes software, storage, and hardware needs, recommending changes and upgrades to provide efficient, effective, and timely service to users in the division and corporation
- Final approver of corporate and divisional policies and procedures related to IT
- Participates in internal MIS task teams, such as short and long-range planning
- Final approver of the development and enforcement of IT security policies and procedures to protect company assets to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and data protection laws
- Evaluate and implement new technologies that enhance business operations and competitive advantage while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT department.
- Ownership in the negotiation and selection of vendors for IT-related contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services
