Your Role
As a Visual Stylist, you help the store Visual Merchandising team create the look and feel of store environments. Under the direction of the Visual Lead, you provide extraordinary customer experiences and bring the Neiman Marcus Brand and fashions to life through magical and powerful storytelling with window displays and in-store activations within a Neiman Marcus store location.
What You'll Do
Brand Standards
- Follow NMG Brand standards and brand partner standards within the store
- Ensure that the store experience reflects NMG Corporate programs
- Implement all Corporate directive strategies as delegated by the Visual Lead (e.g., Holiday Story)
Windows & In-Store Activations
- Interpret the Neiman Marcus direction and current trends through in-store presentation
- Provide direction and helps merchandise the selling floor (e.g., floor presentation, fixture placement, trend presentation, vendor standards) with the Visual Manager, Sales Manager, and Assistant Sales Manager
- Create in-store environments to showcase luxury customer platforms by making it personal, unconditional, and magical
- Demonstrate an understanding of how visual activities increase sales
- Increase sales by ensuring all visual projects align with the store and brand strategy by:
- Maintain store signage, mannequins, furniture, artisan elements, floral displays, carpets, and other visual elements
- Complete tasks and follows direction of Visual Leads to build all merchandising and visual displays
- Follow fashion style cards provided by Corporate on a monthly and seasonal schedule
- Oversee assigned family of business (e.g., Women’s, Men’s), as applicable
Meetings / Calendars / Budgets
- Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as applicable with the Sales Support team to understand and respond to visual merchandising changes based on expected new deliveries
Communication with Main Partners / Events
- Communicate supply needs, asks questions, and deliver upward feedback to manager
- Build, in collaboration with Brand Experience, on event strategies and necessary event preparation activities (e.g., stage, chairs, florals, and décor) under the direction of Visual Leads and other Store Leaders
Miscellaneous
- Maintain visual workroom and studio organization with a focus on safety
What You Bring
- 1+ year visual merchandising experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Motivated with a "Win together" mentality
- Demonstrate a natural interest for fashion and trends
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and PowerPoint; Adobe InDesign or Autodesk Revit
- Certain roles may require standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds
- Associates must work a flexible schedule based on business need, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays
