We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent WC Defense Attorney to join our fast-paced legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for navigating complex workers' compensation defense cases, providing expert legal advice, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients. This position requires a deep understanding of the intricacies of workers' compensation law, exceptional negotiation skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, able to anticipate potential legal issues and develop proactive solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases, ensuring that each case is handled efficiently and effectively.
2. Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and stay abreast of changes in workers' compensation law.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
4. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations, presenting compelling arguments and advocating vigorously on their behalf.
5. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team.
6. Provide expert legal advice to clients, explaining complex legal concepts in clear, understandable language.
7. Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and other key stakeholders.
8. Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics, treating all parties with respect and maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in workers' compensation defense, with a proven track record of favorable outcomes for clients.
3. Current license to practice law in the state.
4. Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes in a manner that is favorable to our clients.
5. Strong research skills, with the ability to quickly and accurately understand complex legal concepts.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present compelling arguments in court and explain complex legal concepts to clients.
7. High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
8. Ability to manage a large caseload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate potential legal issues and develop proactive solutions.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
