The story of our organization begins in 1993, when Texas created a workforce development system that made significant efforts to improve service delivery through local control and coordination of services from different programs. On May 23, 1996, Governor George W. Bush certified the North Central Texas Workforce Development Area (WDA) and on July 25, 1996, the Chief Elected Officials of the 14-county WDA signed a partnership agreement forming the North Central Texas Workforce Development Board and selected the North Central Texas Council of Governments as its fiscal agent, grant recipient and administrative agent. Our WDA includes Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell and Wise counties.
How you will make an impact - Description of the Opportunity:
The Grant Administrator leads and executes in the full grant process in support of diversifying funding streams to the overall WFSNCT until. Specifically, this role would strategically research, identify and pursue multiple funding sources from areas such as Federal, State and Private funders. In addition, they will be responsible for completing proposals and necessary applications as a part of the grant process. Once additional resources are secured the Grant Administrator will work across units to implement, manage and provide documentation needed as a part of the funding requirements.
- Creates a Grant Strategy to diversify funding resources aligned to an annual goal for the WFSNCT department.
- Develops and maintain a suite of templates and boilerplates for grant applications, along with identifying and compiling the necessary documentation to streamline the application process. Collaborate closely with assigned departments to prepare detailed budgets and other essential documents in response to solicitations.
- Conducts a full range of activities required to research, identify, prepare, manage and submit grant proposals to Federal, State, foundation or corporate sources. (i.e. private funders)
- Prepares grant applications, requests for proposals and letters of intent/inquiry.
- Manage the end-to-end grant award process, including grant compliance, reporting, budget monitoring and outcome measurement.
- Establishes and maintains personal contact and relationships with Federal, State, Foundation and Funder contacts (i.e. private funders)
- Coordinates financial audits and information requests from grant/contract representatives
- Act as a liaison between WSNCT and grant contacts for approval and application.

Nice to Have:
- Previous work experience in workforce or economic development programs
- Familiarity with traditional and nontraditional funding opportunities
- Understanding of grants/funding that are workforce specific/partnership opportunities
Required Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years related work experience or 9 years equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
Compensation:
- FLSA: Exempt
- Starting Salary: $76,458.00 - $95,000.00 depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
Officing:
- This position offers a hybrid work option.

- NCTCOG participates in a defined contribution plan as an alternative to Social Security. The defined contribution retirement plan provides retirement benefits for all eligible employees. NCTCOG contributes twelve percent (12%) of permanent full-time employees' gross salaries. Participating employees contribute six percent (6%) of gross salary. An employee becomes forty percent (40%) vested in NCTCOG's contributions after three full years of employment. An additional fifteen percent {15%) is vested for each additional year of employment. An employee becomes fully vested after seven years of employment.
