About the Job
The State of Wisconsin DNR is looking for a Telecommunications Technician II.
This telecommunications technician position will work at the direction of the End Use Support section chief within the Department of Natural Resources. This position will work with cellular vendors for new and upgrade phone orders, along with service suspensions and cancellations. This position will work with a ticketing system where all work requests and progress are tracked. This position will update inventory and various other systems, therefore attention to detail and the ability to follow complicated procedures is required. This position may also support teleconferencing events, which involve camera and sound system set up. This position works with other technicians across the DNR, and with customers and VIPs as well, so great customer service skills are required as well.
Top Skills & Years of experience:
• Experience in supporting smart phones – 2 years minimum
• Experience in working with cellular vendors - 2 years minimum
• Experience in following detailed procedures – 2 years minimum
• Experience in working with a ticketing systems to track work – 2 years minimum
• Experience in tactful and professional communications with teammates and customers – 2 years minimum
Nice to have skills (the most qualified candidates will have some/all of these skills):
• Experience in working with cellular vendors
• Experience with using online vendor portals
• Experience working on a technical team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Remote or onsite? Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense Position is hybrid per agency standards, with a minimum of 2 days per week in office.

Location
This position works in the Madison GEF 2 office building.
Telecommuting up to 3 days per week is
available after the initial training period if approved by the supervisor.
