About the Job
This position will assist the Support Services Manager in all phases and functions of the Commissary, Warehouse, Gift Shop and Food Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED and two (2) to four (2) years food services or retail experience preferred; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills to successfully perform in this role.
- Must be able to complete a Food Safety training annually.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize importance of multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain sensitivity to our target population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean, organize, and restock shelves.
- Clean, organize, inventory, and restock freezer.
- Clean and maintain all storage areas.
- Stage food for upcoming menu week.
- Prep food items for distribution to cottages following food safety guidelines to include thawing, cutting, and storing food with accurate date labels.
- Maintain temperature logs on all refrigerators and freezers.
- Monitor recycle bin.
- Accept deliveries from vendors and donors; unload pallets, and stock items.
- Assist supervisor in pick-up of supplies, donations and other needs of the Commissary.
- Prepare food and household supplies for cottage pick-up of weekly grocery orders.
- Assist all departments with commissary needs and document items dispersed for financial transfer reports.
- Clean floors and fixtures in commissary, bathroom, kitchen, and warehouse walkway.
- Maintain cleanliness of all carts used in the commissary.
- Report to manager any equipment maintenance concerns.
- Remove any dented/damaged products from the commissary floor for the manager to destroy or receive credit.
- Maintain an environment that meets all Department of Health requirements for twice per year inspections.
- Maintain, rotate and/or dispose of potential expired inventory by using the first in first out (FIFO) system.
- Prepare and order twice-weekly produce orders.
- Assist supervisor with National School Lunch Program database including meal/snack counts and procurement competitive pricing.
- Input information into spreadsheets, create Word documents, and communicate through e-mail.
- Assist supervisor in mid-year and year-end inventory for Gift Shop and during sales events.
- Complete annual training requirement for the agency as assigned.
- Set-up for General Team Meetings, Board Meetings, and other special events.
- Back-up for Food Services Assistant.
- Back-up for Support Services Manager.
- Perform all other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Employment Requirements
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record, required.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Ability to read, write and speak proficiently in English, required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
