About the Job
The Warehouse Manager oversees the people, processes and shipping/receiving department at facility-level. This position participates in team member training, preparing & reviewing purchase orders, investigating & negotiating purchasing with suppliers and general communication with suppliers. This position is also responsible for performance management of assigned employees in the department to ensure adherence to process, safety and 5S.

• Create & establish warehouse work practices and procedures to achieve a safe and efficient workflow.
• Complete inventory audit and functions (cycle counts) to ensure 98% inventory accuracy.
• Complete receiving functions and associated documentation on a timely basis.
• Research purchasing options of supplies, equipment, repairs & maintenance (R & M); issuance of purchase orders.
• Issue written and oral instructions to team members and assign work schedules to achieve warehouse goals.
• Confer with other resources outside of the facility to ensure coordination of other functions such as purchasing, inventory management and quality assurance.
• Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
• Communicate and coordinate on supply needs with all departments.
• Schedules preventative maintenance and associated repairs for Rolling Stock.
• Monitor min/max quantity as usage changes or new equipment is added to inventory.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for logistics operations in a warehouse setting, preparation and submission of purchase orders.
• Proven vendor negotiation skills: ability to investigate and source equipment, parts, and general facility items.
• Strong managerial, administrative and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lead, direct and develop warehouse team members.
• Knowledge and understanding of cycle count programs and warehouse management systems.

Education and Experience Requirements
• High School diploma or GED required along with a minimum of five (5) years’ previous shipping or operations/ supply chain experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, operation, supply chain or other related field and five (5) years’ previous shipping or operations/ supply chain experience highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity required.
• Previous experience with procurement processes highly desired.
Travel Requirements
• Up to 5%.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently, walking; grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Experience
Required- 3 year(s): Supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, supply Chain or other related field and 5 years previous experience in shipping or operations/supply chain experience highly preferred
- 5 year(s): Shipping or Operations/Supply Chain Experience
