Summary
This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering and sliding packages. Warehouse associates support the daily warehouse operations. Our warehouse associates must have the ability to process shipping and receiving functions, load/unload trucks - our trucks and common carrier with box and flatbed (no dock), and pull/pack orders. Our associates must have the ability to communicate with staff, management, and customers. Associates must be able to work well under pressure, in a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain shipping schedule by picking and packing individual customer orders per specific customer requirements.
- Inspect all goods to specifications when received and prior to shipping to the customer.
- Input receiving and order shipping information into Company ERP system on a timely and accurate basis.
- Receive and verify shipments received in the Company warehouse.
- Safely operate a lift or fork truck when picking orders or putting away products.
- Observe all Company and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, picked up and organized warehouse and outdoor storage area.
- Drive Company vehicle for occasional pick-up or delivery (i.e., flatbed truck; box truck; flatbed with trailer truck).
- Perform all general warehouse tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
- Comply with Company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
- Physically able to lift equipment, work while standing on your feet, climb up and down, etc.
- Possess strong communication skills to interact with the team.
- Provide quality customer service to our customers, drivers, contractors, and manufacturers.
- Maintain a forward thinking approach to coordinate and schedule deliveries, including fleet maintenance.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Ability to be certified in forklift training program, if not already certified.
- Strong oral and written communication skills - professional and proficient in emailing.
- Be on time for scheduled workday and complete all work hours required.
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers.
- Establish and maintain order fulfillment accuracy with attention to detail.
- Positive attitude on display at all times.
- Able to prioritize and handle several projects at once.
- Persistent and diligent attention to safety and detail.
- Proficient with basic computer programs like Microsoft Office.
- Possess the ability to learn and use various types of inventory management software.
- Able to do minor plumbing and electrical work - build lift stations & tanks, plumb a dosing pump, etc.
- Work with freight lines to find best shipping rates
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 am - 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. There will be weekly overtime. Expect 40-45 hours from October 1st through April 30th and 50 hours May 1st through September 31st.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED / Experience preferred
