Abonmarche is seeking a Waterfront Staff Engineer in our Benton Harbor, MI office.
Job Summary:
The role of the Waterfront Staff Engineer is to perform general project engineering duties to include computer-aided design and drafting, regulatory applications and coordination, preparation of contract documents, engineering computations and budget estimates, and inspection and administration of construction for Civil Engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices with a focus on coastal/waterfront processes, structures, and erosion control.
- Ability to analyze coastal processes, design, and implement waterfront improvements, and conduct studies to assess the impact of waterfront projects.
- Engineering design support for marina and waterfront projects
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, engineering reports and other technical documents.
- Conduct site visits and fieldwork as needed.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related field required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Engineer in Training preferred.
Work Experience/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D preferred.
- Experience with construction materials, procedures, and documents.
- Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering principles.
- Ability to read basic Civil Engineering and Architectural drawings.
- Ability to accurately measure and calculate items such as grade, area, and volume.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Work Environment:
Typical office environment with some work performed outside on a project site. May be exposed to extreme temperatures. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety boots/shoes, hard hat, safety vest, etc.
