Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and follow aerospace blueprints and engineering specifications for welding projects

Utilize various welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, and Resistance welding to fuse metal components

Inspect welds to ensure they meet aerospace quality standards and specifications

Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop efficient welding processes

Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) on welded joints to identify any defects

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in a high-risk aerospace manufacturing environment

Document and maintain welding records and certifications

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in welding processes and quality control

Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors regarding welding projects and progress

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding is a plus

Proven experience as a welder in the aerospace or related industry

Proficiency in reading and interpreting aerospace blueprints and technical drawings

Knowledge of various welding techniques and their applications in aerospace manufacturing

Familiarity with aerospace materials such as aluminum, titanium, and composites

Understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations (e.g., NADCAP, AS9100)

Ability to perform and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) on welded joints

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free welds

Physical dexterity and ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues

Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures

Welding certifications and qualifications consistent with aerospace industry standards

Ability to obtain security clearance for aerospace projects

Flexibility to work in shifts and overtime as required in the aerospace manufacturing environment
