Position Overview
As a Welder, you will be responsible for fitting and welding pipes for commercial or industrial projects
You will work with various materials and ensure that the pipework aligns with project specifications while adhering to safety standards and quality controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal containment systems using a variety of welding techniques
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation of pipe systems
- Fit and align sections, valves, and related components
- Weld using appropriate techniques to ensure strength, safety, and code compliance
- Perform tests on welded joints and ensure quality control procedures are followed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve welding or fitting issues as they arise
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a welder pipe fitter in industrial, construction, or commercial settings
- Proficient in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and pipefitting
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of safety standards, codes, and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in challenging conditions (height, confined spaces, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with high-pressure and large diameter pipe welding and fitting
- Specialized training or certification in advanced welding techniques or pipefitting is a plus
- Ability to work with a variety of materials, such as steel, copper, or plastic piping
