Job Title: MIG/TIG Welder
Pay: $20.00/hr. - $30.00/hr.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role requires proficiency in both MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to fabricate high-quality metal structures. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to safety are essential for success in this position. The MIG/TIG Welder will be responsible for working on various projects, ensuring all welds meet strict quality and structural standards.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Operations
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel, as specified by engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, adjusting voltage, amperage, and feed rates for optimal results.
- Inspect and measure materials and welds to confirm adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Fabrication & Assembly
- Use blueprints, schematics, and work orders to assemble and weld various metal components.
- Fabricate parts through cutting, grinding, and fitting metal pieces before welding.
- Operate hand and power tools, including grinders, saws, and drills, to prepare parts for welding.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect completed welds for quality and safety, verifying structural integrity, alignment, and defect-free finishes.
- Troubleshoot welding issues and adjust techniques as necessary for optimal outcomes.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety policies, ensuring correct PPE usage, safe handling of materials, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Comply with OSHA guidelines and welding industry best practices to support a safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend and implement improvements to welding processes, materials, and techniques for increased productivity and quality.
- Work with team members to address production issues and streamline workflow.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of MIG and TIG welding experience, ideally in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Technical Skills: Skilled in MIG and TIG welding techniques, with the ability to handle various metal types and thicknesses.
- Knowledge: Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Attention to Detail: Quality-oriented, with the capability to identify and correct welding defects.
- Safety Compliance: Knowledgeable in welding safety protocols, including PPE requirements and OSHA standards.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform in different positions (standing, bending, crouching).
