Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Welding Robot Programmer (Manufacturing Engineer 3) in Decatur, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $40/hr W2 + OT including benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay. Cullerton Group will provide sponsorship.

Typical task breakdown:
- Welding Robot Programmer, Welding Technician is responsible for troubleshooting welding robot issues to minimize machine downtime.
- Assist in training new robot operators, communicating with both the Section Manager and 1st shift Programmer observations made during shift.
- Teaching and guiding less experienced welders with proper welding technique, welding defect identification, welding defect remediation and general welding process troubleshooting.
- Enabling the Value Streams PQVC goals to be met.
- Candidates need to have previous robot programming or has operated a robot before and manual welding background.
- This job will be robot/manual welding support on off-shift.
- Must be able to trouble shoot robot errors and help out with manual welding and tooling questions.
Interaction with team:
- Candidate will report directly to the Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering group.
Work environment:
Shop floor.
Education & Experience Required:
- 2-years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2-year technical degree desired but not required.
- Proven ability to work safely.
- Must exhibit exemplary attendance.
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Extensive hands-on heavy welding experience of at least 2-years with the GMAW process.
- Robot Operator/Programmer experience.
- Previous weld teaching experience desired.
- Action oriented problem solver.
