Welding Robot Programmer - Cullerton Group

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Welding Robot Programmer (Manufacturing Engineer 3) in Decatur, IL. The work will be done onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $40/hr W2 + OT including benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay. Cullerton Group will provide sponsorship.

Typical task breakdown:

• Welding Robot Programmer, Welding Technician is responsible for troubleshooting welding robot issues to minimize machine downtime.
• Assist in training new robot operators, communicating with both the Section Manager and 1st shift Programmer observations made during shift.
• Teaching and guiding less experienced welders with proper welding technique, welding defect identification, welding defect remediation and general welding process troubleshooting.
• Enabling the Value Stream’s PQVC goals to be met.
• Candidates need to have previous robot programming or has operated a robot before and manual welding background.
• This job will be robot/manual welding support on off-shift.
• Must be able to trouble shoot robot errors and help out with manual welding and tooling questions.

Interaction with team:

• Candidate will report directly to the Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering group.

Work environment:
Shop floor.

Education & Experience Required:

• 2-years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2-year technical degree desired but not required.
• Proven ability to work safely.
• Must exhibit exemplary attendance.

Technical Skills
(Required)

• Extensive hands-on heavy welding experience of at least 2-years with the GMAW process.
• Robot Operator/Programmer experience.
• Previous weld teaching experience desired.
• Action oriented problem solver.
