Position : Wireless Engineering
Location: Greensboro, NC (Onsite)
Technical/Functional Skills
- Support a Cisco centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment. This includes routers, firewalls, security, WLAN.
- Own and fulfill small to large strategic or tactical wireless projects. Function as point of escalation for project execution issues.
- Paired with another junior engineer, manage 3-4 large simultaneous wireless refresh projects per quarter to completion
- Conduct and or coordinate site surveys, develop site plans to gain total coverage of facility
- Build BOM, coordinate resources, track execution, and validate deployment/upgraded equipment/site.
- Supervise and or performing site installs, maintenance, upgrades or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs.
- Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues.
- Monitor system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root cause.
- Work on daily service tickets while engaged on enterprise wireless deployments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience.
- High-level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management.
- Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).
- Extensive experience with Wireless technologies
- Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including; VXLAN, ACI, fabric path, Spanning Tree, Virtual LAN (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts
