National Salvage & Service Corporation is an industry leading railroad contractor working across the USA. National is looking for a Wood Yard Manager in Counce, TN to run our Wood Processing Facility. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast pace and wants to leave their thumbprint on our industry.

• Production Management: Direct daily production and personnel, coordinating logistics effectively.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality meets established standards.

• Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality while managing files and records.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
• Mechanical Troubleshooting: Perform mechanical troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing, processing, or railroad-related environment, with a proven track record in leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee development.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
• Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience in financial oversight, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Knowledge of quality assurance practices and standards, with experience in implementing and maintaining quality control processes.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand and address operational machinery issues when necessary.
• Physical Requirements: Stand, Walk, Climb, Bend, Twist, Move Throughout the Day, Use Hands in Repetitive Motions, Repeat Same Movements, walk on uneven terrain, work comfortably in an outdoor environment expose to all weather elements.
