Year Round Life Guard - Fridley Public Schools

In the land of 10,000 lakes, everyone deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim and stay safe in the water. Help us ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all by joining the Fridley Community Education Aquatics team as a Year Round Lifeguard.

As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our patrons at our aquatic facilities. If you are a strong swimmer, possess excellent vigilance, and have a passion for helping others, we want to hear from you!

In this position, you will lifeguard and/or teach swimming lessons to youth and adults as directed by the Aquatics Program Manager, using techniques and procedures specified by the program. You will carry out lessons and/or lifeguard activities at both the Fridley Middle School pool and the St. Anthony Village High School pool.

Requirements:

• Age 15 or older (Lifeguarding Only)
• Age 16 or older (WSI and Lifeguard)
• Experience working with children in groups
• Clear criminal background check
• Water Safety Instructor certificate - training will be provided if do not have certification
• Red Cross Lifeguard certificate - training will be provided if do not have certification
• Valid CPR certificate - training will be provided if do not have certification

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, child care certificate preferred

Salary:

• Up to $19.13 per hour (Depending on Qualifications)

Work Schedule: 

• Weeknights (5:30 PM to 9:00 PM)
• Weekends (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
• Summer daytime hours (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
• Summer evening hours (6:15 PM to 8:00 PM)
• Part time - flexible hours based on availability
