AAPC Certified Medical Coder - TEKsystems

Description:

Responsible for abstracting and providing CPT, ICD, and HCPCS codes for procedures. Resolves coding related edits and denials, and provides ongoing physician feedback and education.

A Healthcare System in Renton, WA is in search of a full time Facilities Coder. This person needs to have at least 3+ years of experience in Ambulatory/Surgery coding and should also have experience with Endoscopy/GI coding. Not looking for a Hospital Biller, but rather a PB Coder (Professional Bill) They need to possess certifications in at least one of the following areas: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of CPT procedure coding, ICD-9 diagnosis coding, and HCPCS coding principals and practices, some ICD-10-CM training preferred.

2. Demonstrates ability to research authoritative citations related to coding, compliance, and additional reporting needs.

3. Demonstrates overall knowledge of claims processing for various insurances both private and governed.

4. Demonstrates the ability to carry out assignments independently, work from procedures, and exercise good judgment.

5. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, including telephone interactions ability to interact with physicians and support staff..

6. Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party coding requirements.

7. Proven experience with Washington State payors preferred.
