Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing ETL processes to support data warehousing and integration projects. This role involves creating technical specifications, ensuring data quality, optimizing performance, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2 days onsite in Whippany, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:

ETL Development and Design:
- Design and develop ETL processes using Ab Initio for data warehousing and integration projects.
- Create technical specifications and detailed design documents based on business requirements.
- Develop and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Data Integration:
- Integrate data from diverse sources including databases, flat files, and external systems.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data processing lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to support both real-time and batch data processing.

Performance Optimization:
- Optimize ETL processes to achieve maximum performance and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to ETL processes.
- Implement best practices for data processing and ETL design.

Testing and Validation:
- Conduct unit testing and support system integration testing of ETL processes.
- Ensure that all solutions are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards before deployment.
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve any issues that arise.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with business analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work with data architects to design data models and database structures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Create and deliver reports and presentations on ETL process performance and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Ab Initio ETL tools and processes.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and data integration principles.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems.
- Experience in optimizing ETL performance and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.
- Experience in creating detailed technical documentation and reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Ab Initio Developer or in a similar ETL development role.
