The Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in the life of an individual with autism. By using the techniques proven through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the BT will work one-on-one with a child to reduce, redirect, and even eliminate behaviors. This impacts not only the child (client) by helping them communicate and complete basic and advanced life skills, but it also impacts the family by providing them with a way to truly connect with their child.

POSITION DETAILS
As a Behavior Technician, you will:
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in the home, school, and community environments
- Follow an individualized treatment plan tailormade by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to address and improve deficits
- Implement behavior plans created by the BCBA
- Collect data through observation and submit detailed session notes
- Participate in training and team meetings
- Collaborate with supervisors and peers
- Some of the areas you will address with your client may include language acquisition, functional communication training, social skills training, daily living skills, decreasing maladaptive behaviors, community safety skills, toilet training, executive function training
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing and able to travel to clients’ homes, schools, or other community based locations to provide services
- Experience working with children or related experience is required.
- Related experience includes working with children, working with individuals with autism, working with individuals with disabilities
- Related fields and roles include paraprofessional, special education, teacher assistance, classroom aide, early childhood, childcare, nanny, babysitter, direct care worker, direct support specialist, therapeutic staff support, home care, behavior support, behavior interventionist, or healthcare/pediatrics
- Professional or personal experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred
- Minimum educational requirement of a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have completed the online 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course OR must complete it within the first 30 days of employment (with our help & guidance, of course!)
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification through the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board) is not required but is a plus
- Effective written an oral communication skills required
- Must commit to a schedule, have strong attendance, and a strong work ethic
- Must have reliable transportation with a current and clear driver’s license
- Must pass a criminal background check including child abuse clearances
