About the Job
The Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine is initiating a search for an adult cardiac surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Responsibilities include teaching residents and students and conducting research commensurate with academic rank. The candidate will be expected to perform the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery. The Division of Adult Cardiac Surgery is in the University of Louisville Heart Hospital and performs 1000 cases annually.
The successful candidate must be board certified/board eligible. He or she must be eligible for licensure in Kentucky and committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research activities.
The Department is comprised of five divisions: Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, General Thoracic Surgery, Adult Cardiac Surgery, Cardiovascular Critical Care and Cardiovascular Research. The Department has a traditional three-year ACGME cardiac training program.
