Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. In a biological science or related field
- Research experience involving cryoTEM
- Hands-on experience with cryoTEM sample preparation
- Hands-on experience with cryoTEM data collection and data processing
- Hands-on experience with operating cryoTEM and conventional (RT) TEM
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member to
accomplish goals
- Experience handling chemical and biologically hazardous materials
- Basic knowledge of standard ultramicrotomy
- Good organizational skills
Position Summary
The successful candidate in this position will work independently, as well as with students, staff, and faculty of UGA, to advance the cryogenic electron microscopy of biological samples, as well as assist with conventional imaging.
