Academic Systems Support Engineer

The Division of Continuing Education at Brigham Young University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Academic Systems Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of academic systems, contributing to the success of our diverse and engaged student body. What you'll do in this position:
· Implementation and support
o Handle implementation, configuration and support of academic-related third-party technologies and services.
o Manage internal and external training for academic-related third-party technologies and services.
o Become SME in academic product-related technologies to answer questions and anticipate and mitigate issues.
o Use technology---including browser developer tools, APIs, etc. to solve problems.
o Identify, triage, troubleshoot, and propose solutions for problems with a technical component or impact.
· Evaluation and innovation
o Identify opportunities and risks related to external and internal technologies used by Continuing Education's academic products.
o Contribute to exploration, risk assessment, and evaluation of academic-related third-party technologies and services.
o Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes considering current and upcoming technologies.
o Develop internal standards and best practices related to technologies used by academic products and follow them.
o Foster relationships of trust with all areas of the organization.
· Communication and project management
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
· A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
· Bachelor's degree AND two years of related work experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
· Bachelor's degree in business administration, IT or a related field AND four years of related work experience spanning both the business and technology areas or equivalent combination of education and experience.
