About the Job
Job Purpose: Oversees the movement of trailers in and out of yard areas, while also providing comprehensive surveillance coverage across all RJW properties to ensure the safety and security of the premises. Additionally, provides support to the Security Manager in conducting investigations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assists implement comprehensive security protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of company assets.
· Conduct regular surveillance and security checks using CCTV monitoring to ensure the safety and security of warehouse premises.
· Cooperate with other departments, such as operations and logistics, to ensure a smooth and secure operation of the warehouse.
· Analyze data to identify trends, optimize processes, and inform strategic planning through data-driven recommendations to the Security Manager.
· Monitor and control access to company facilities through video surveillance, alarm systems, and access controls.
· Participate in conducting regular security drills and exercises to ensure readiness and preparedness.
· Clearly understand goals, policies, and procedures of RJW.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
· Maintain confidentiality of company information.
· Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Qualifications:
· You must be able to maintain accurate records and attention to detail in your work.
· Familiarity with CCTV cameras and other access control technologies.
· Access Control Officers frequently work non-traditional schedules, including evenings, weekends, and major holidays, requiring flexibility and adaptability to meet the demands of their role.
· 1-2 years of administrative experience, with a preference for candidates who have proficiency in using Synapse and McLeod software.
· Basic understanding of transportation and logistics systems and processes.
Education and/or Experience Required:
· High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
Language Skills Sets:
· Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills:
· This position requires a solid understanding of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software to effectively perform daily tasks..
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
· Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
· Regularly works in an indoor environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
· Frequently required to talk, hear, stand, and walk.
· Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
