We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.
The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

About This Role
The Access Control Specialist is the first interaction employees, vendors, and guests have when arriving onsite and experiencing the FDBN culture. This role is responsible for the efficient and effective implementation of access & badging systems, vendor processes, administrative logistics, and various security related duties. Additionally, this role provides guidance to contract security receptionists, initial and continual training, documentation, scheduling, and emergency response capabilities. This role carries out duties in a professional manner, including the use of Human Performance Tools, Safe Work Practices and Procedures Use & Adherence.
What You’ll Do
- Leads the day-to-day operational activities associated with the physical access and badging control systems for a current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) facility (e.g., provides guidance to contract security receptionists, visitor badging, vendor interactions)
- Welcomes and provides information and assistance to visitors and vendors to ensure a smooth visit
- Responds to and manages incoming and outgoing correspondence (e.g., phone calls, emails, mail)
- Participates in the development and revision of operational procedures and training materials associated with badging and visitor access and other security processes
- Serves as a security training instructor to the physical security team and site, as required
- Coordinates visitor and vendor access while maintaining security protocols
- Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, vendors, and clients to ensure site safety
- Responds to emergency situations promptly by notifying appropriate emergency services (e.g., onsite security, police, paramedics, etc.)
- Maintains accurate records of all site visitors and vendors
- Serves as point of contact for concerns and escalates to management, as needed
- Provides direction to contractors while ensuring security protocols and procedures are properly executed
- Maintains inventory and access of badges, parking passes, and vendor and contractor site permissions, etc.
- Participates in Facilities and Security projects, as needed
- Collaborates and coordinates security requirements with other FDB sites

Knowledge and Skills

Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of security protocols, access controls, regulatory compliance, and customer service experience; or
- Associate degree in Homeland Security, Communications, Business Management, or related field with 2 years of security protocols, access controls, regulatory compliance, and customer service experience
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Communications, Business Management, or related field
- Experience with computer software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Adobe, etc.
- Prior experience leading projects or small teams
