Salary : $ 43,367.00 - $55,957.00 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary
This position works within a collaborative framework with other departmental team members to ensure effective program and service delivery occurs in alignment with established processes and guidelines. This position is a core staff contributor who provides direct service to students, faculty, and staff of the university. The work requires a collaborative approach within the department, division, and the entire university community.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
_Determine Accommodations 65%_
+ Responsible for determining appropriate accommodations, adjustments and/or auxiliary aids and services for students with disabilities in the post-secondary setting which requires expertise in interpretation and application of disability law.
+ Determines appropriateness of documentation submitted and whether requests for accommodations in the classroom, campus programs, and/or examinations, including assistive technology and programmatic access are supported by submitted documentation.
+ Determines reasonable accommodations based on diagnostic information, current impact in the post-secondary setting, reasonableness of the request, standards of practice and student requests, includes breadth and depth of prescriptive intervention strategies based on diagnostic information.
+ Works individually with students to formalize accommodations.
+ Collaborates with faculty and university staff to implement academic accommodations.
+ Documents administrative actions and interactions related to students, including in person meetings, phone calls, and emails with students, family, faculty, staff, and providers.
+ Maintains confidentiality in accordance with Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act, university, and departmental policies.
+ Participates in the interactive process to resolve professor or student accommodation requests or grievances.
_Guidance & Referral 25%_
+ Works independently with support services both off and on campus.
+ Refers students with disabilities to support services.
+ When necessary, provides training, guidance, and support to faculty and/or staff working with students with disabilities.
+ Advises students with respect to skills and issues of the following areas: rights and responsibilities regarding academic accommodations in respect to the legal parameters of the ADA, Sections 504 and 508, the ADAAA and Disability Services and university policies. Also, regarding academic requirements, self-advocacy, and career issues specific to disabling conditions and needs university rules, regulations, and policies.
_Professional Development 10%_
+ Attends professional conferences, webinars, workshops, brown bags, seminars, training sessions, professional organizational meetings committees and community opportunities.
+ Summarizes latest information to exchange with colleagues and the University community.
+ Stays current with research in the field by reviewing publications, journals, OCR rulings, journals, technical information, and upcoming trends related to post-secondary disability issues. colleagues' whether in a written or an oral manner.
+ Anticipates future needs and trends of post-secondary disability issues.

+ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
+ Two years of professional experience working with adolescents and/or adults with disabilities in an educational or other comparable setting.
+ experience reading and understanding documentation and the impact on the academic environment. Reports and assessments include those created by healthcare providers, psychologist, or the educational system (e.g., a psychoeducational evaluation)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's degree in education, special education, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, or closely related field.
+ Experience working with students with disabilities in higher education.
