The Account Executive's primary role is to manage key accounts, collaborate with producers where needed, and serve as a key resource within a group of account management staff. The AE handles a complex book of business (typically $200,000-$300,000 revenue) and has considerable expertise. May focus on a small number of major accounts. The Account Executive responds to formal carrier projects and independently maintains new and existing client relationships with minimal supervision or producer involvement.

Each Team will function as a unit, with the leading level team member of Client Executive, Senior Account Executive, Account Executive, or Senior Account Manager coordinating the following. There may be distribution of these functions within a team to utilize each other's strongest soft skills, enhancing overall team effectiveness.

- Fosters leadership and mentorship of team members.
- Leads staff in maintaining client relationships, motivating performance to ensure client deliverables are consistent with service standards and proper procedures.
- Facilitates a collaborative team environment.
- Participates in staff hiring and separation decisions and advances the training of new team members.
- Approves time-off requests and timesheets for staff, as applicable.
- Approves expense reports within expense authority level
- Routinely visit with the client and function as the primary contact for coverage consultation and service issues.
- Manage the renewal process including holding internal and external pre-renewal strategy meetings, making decisions with clients on coverage limits and other insurance matters, directing the marketing process and overseeing the renewal proposal.
- Interact with carrier underwriters to negotiate renewal, new business and remarket quotes.
- Establish, implement, and manage written service timelines and service calendars, ensuring commitments are adhered to, that are in line with client expectations.
- Participates in client meetings to support retention and sales efforts as requested by producer. Facilitate client meetings including preparation of agendas, materials, coordination of presenters, drafting and distributing meeting notes.
- Review weekly book of business reports.
- Advise clients regarding coverage and risk exposures, reviewing contracts and policies, negotiating with carriers to minimize gaps and omissions.
- Audit sales executives' book, reviewing for potential gaps in coverage or coverages yet to offer, and ensure these gaps are addressed.
- Research coverage issues, including negotiating with carriers to resolve client needs and expectations.
- Promptly respond to and resolve customer inquiries and problems.
- Prepare renewal business opportunities for marketing, submit client to selected markets, analyze proposals & quotes and negotiating final coverage terms and pricing. Participates in client meetings to support retention and sales efforts as requested by producer.
- Prepare spreadsheets and other complex charts as needed or requested.
- Monitor expiration lists and receivables, ensuring financials are within established goals and timelines, facilitating collection of outstanding receivables if necessary.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to work with HNW Clients and able to understand and identify their unique insurance exposures. This includes the ability to identify when a client's insurance portfolio has outgrown the coverage offerings under a Middle Market/Service Center carrier.
- Ability to work independently while keeping open communication within the team. Is considered a subject matter expert in one or more areas (e.g., High Net Worth, Service Center, etc.).
- Ability to manage sophisticated risk management accounts and non-standard insurance techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of carriers and industry standard coverage forms.
