Position Overview
Services clients as assigned, in accordance with Agency guidelines, providing a high level of service while achieving clients surety objectives. Develop, build and maintain a strong business relationship with both clients and surety companies. Demonstrate integrity in all dealings with clients, sureties and internal staff. Achieves agency objectives for account development, retention and placement of business.

Surety Bonds Account Manager
Position Overview
Services clients as assigned, in accordance with Agency guidelines, providing a high level of service while achieving clients surety objectives. Develop, build and maintain a strong business relationship with both clients and surety companies. Demonstrate integrity in all dealings with clients, sureties and internal staff. Achieves agency objectives for account development, retention and placement of business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Obtain surety approval for and process and issue various surety bond requests (bid, performance & payment, commercial bonds) for current and new customers per the agency’s surety workflows
- Transact and issue new surety business and renewals in the agency’s operating systems (EPIC and Erlon)
- Use of surety online platforms to apply for and issue bonds
- Maintain 60-90 day lead time on bond renewals
- Assist with accounts receivable calls to collect past due premiums
- Assist with new business submissions from clients; determine appropriate sureties for requests to obtain the best program/rate for clients
- Analyze surety requirements in relation to client’s financial and credit strength (ability to recommend/suggest surety parameters such as single/aggregate bonding limits and premium rates)
- Basic knowledge of client financial statements and work on hand schedules
- Establish in-house lines of authority on behalf of clients; Obtain bond approvals from company underwriters exceeding the client’s surety bond program
- Attend client/surety meetings to establish or renew surety program based on analyzed financial statements
- Attend surety underwriter meetings to discuss new bond program opportunities and client needs within commercial surety market
- Attend surety company and/or association events
- Record bond claims and notify the appropriate underwriter
- Able to perform all duties of the associate account manager role as needed

- Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Insurance License required
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Applied Preferred Database software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Active P&C License
