Job Title: Account Manager – Fire Protection Service Sales
Location: Based out of San Jose / covering San Jose to Richmond (inside sales)
Base Salary: $67,000 - $70,000 + Commission Structure & Bonus

Role Overview:
As an Account Manager (AM), you will partner closely with an Account Executive (AE) within the assigned territory. You will act as a strategic partner to Operations, supporting new and existing customers. Key responsibilities include leading exploratory conversations and site surveys, understanding clients' fire and life safety needs, and effectively presenting the PSI value proposition. Meeting quotas and fostering positive customer experiences are central to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Conduct periodic business reviews with customers in collaboration with the AE and Operations team to ensure timely lead response. Initiate customer contacts to gauge satisfaction and relay important PSI updates.
- Customer Advocacy: Serve as the primary contact and advocate for existing customers in your territory, working closely with Operations to uphold satisfaction standards.
- Revenue Management: Maintain the territory’s revenue base by overseeing account retention and renewals. Drive additional revenue by encouraging adoption of new product features and expanded services.
- Lead Generation Support: Assist in executing lead generation campaigns from the Marketing Department.
- Client Acquisition: Generate new clients as needed through research, cold calling, and networking within the defined market.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Utilize the PSI Opportunity Management process in Salesforce to track and build customer revenue activities and opportunities.
- Strategic Growth: Collaborate with team members to develop and execute strategies for growth. Maintain awareness of company developments to leverage opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong collaborative relationships and alliances. Employ effective communication and negotiation skills.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of progressive, successful experience in customer service and account management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Sales experience in Fire Protection is highly desirable; related fields like HVAC, commercial property, or office equipment sales are also relevant.
- Proven sales success with consistent upselling and cross-selling, and a demonstrated ability to develop strong customer relationships.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other required technology.
- Understanding of field services, including sales, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to travel occasionally for off-site meetings and events.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
