Job Title: Account Manager – Door and Trim Industry
Job Overview: Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Account Manager to lead key client accounts in the door and trim industry. The ideal candidate will focus on cultivating client relationships, driving business growth, and managing sales within the residential market. This role demands a deep understanding of residential construction principles, door and trim products, and effective communication to exceed client expectations and foster long-term partnerships.
Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients in the residential door and trim industry.
- Serve as the primary contact for client inquiries, concerns, and requests, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Proactively understand clients' needs and offer tailored solutions to enhance their satisfaction and loyalty.
2. Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the door and trim market, focusing on both existing and potential clients.
- Collaborate with the sales team to craft and implement strategies to expand the customer base and grow market share.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the business.
3. Product Knowledge:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of residential door and trim products, including materials, styles, specifications, and applications.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, and market shifts to provide expert insights to clients.
- Conduct material take-offs from blueprints and advise clients on suitable product solutions.
4. Order and Inventory Management:
- Prepare accurate quotes and orders, ensuring all necessary information is obtained from clients and promptly processed with suppliers.
- Oversee the timely delivery of products, resolving any issues related to availability or supply chain concerns.
- (Preferred) Coordinate with internal support teams, such as warehouse and shop managers, to ensure seamless operations, including inventory management and order preparation.
5. Problem Resolution:
- Handle client issues efficiently, collaborating with internal departments such as warehouse, shop, bookkeeping, and suppliers/vendors to resolve concerns.
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure accurate communication and quick resolution of challenges, including order status updates, pricing confirmation, and product specifications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the residential door and trim industry, with a strong understanding of general residential construction principles.
- Proven success in account management, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Recent experience with material take-offs from blueprints is essential.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a focus on achieving results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Agility by DMSi is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail and multitasking ability.
