GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Accountant – Accounts Payable position is responsible for the processing of all Accounts Payable transactions including, but not limited to, processing of vendor invoices, maintenance of the Accounts Payable account and the associated subsidiary accounts payable ledger.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accountant – Accounts Payable position is responsible for the processing of all Accounts Payable transactions including, but not limited to, processing of vendor invoices, maintenance of the Accounts Payable account and the associated subsidiary accounts payable ledger.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes accounts payable and allocating invoices in an automated ERP environment.
- Creates allocation spreadsheets, charts and graphs using Excel and other spreadsheet programs
- Prepares accruals for month-end close, year-end close and reporting purposes.
- Reconciles the accounts payable subledger and vendors’ accounts balances to actual.
- Ensures invoices are approved by an authorized individual and coded correctly.
- Timely records all invoices, investigate unusual items and follow up on pending items.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred
- Two (2) years of recent accounts payable experience required
- Experience with Office 365 applications (experience working with MS Excel) required
- Ability to reconcile and/or balance financial documents and accounts
- Strong attention to detail is required
