Job Details
The Lead Accountant will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities within our Architecture & Design firm. This role requires a thorough understanding GAAP accounting as well as a strong knowledge base in project-based accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate financial reports and statements in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Implement and manage accounting processes specific to project-based work, including job costing, revenue recognition, and expense tracking.
- Monitor and analyze project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with project goals and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Manage internal controls and audit processes to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support in daily financial operations.
- Facilitate professional development and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Communicate financial performance, strategies, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in the Architecture & Design or Facility Relocation Services industry required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
