Accountant - Unity Search Group

UNITY Search has been engaged to help a rapidly growing real estate development company in identifying an Accountant.   The Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the company. This role is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with GAAP.  This role is 100% in-office. 
Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting all accounting operational functions
• Coordinating and assisting the fractional CFO with close functions.
• Coordinating and assisting with external auditors. Gathering information for tax preparation.
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assist the budget process.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Supporting and monitoring business performance metrics

Transactions

• Responsible for full cycle AP/AR, processing payroll, and bank reconciliation.
• Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
• Maintain the chart of accounts
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Requirements

• Accounting Degree highly preferred
• QuickBooks experience required
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high growth environment 
• 100% in office
