CV Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant or Bookkeeper with strong verbal, written, and organizational skills for a growing organization in NE Portland! The ideal candidate has intermediate Excel skills and a solid understanding of general ledger entries and their functionality, as well as an exceptional customer service aptitude. The Accountant will evaluate financial operations to ensure assigned client accounts operate smoothly, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with GAAP.

Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger entries
- Prepare financial statements and supporting financial schedules
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts
- Research transactions and handle complex calculations
- Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
- Communicate effectively with the Executive team and membership service team, requiring strong presentation and relationship-building skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile checking and investment accounts
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Communicate with Clients, Legal Counsel, Auditors, and Consultants, both verbally and in writing
- Perform data entry, organization, filing, etc.
- Monitor the cash flow of assigned accounts
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill reporting requirements
- Serve as a liaison with external auditors, maintaining organized files and records for annual audits
- Handle required tax filings
- Conduct ad-hoc research and analysis as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar field preferred.
- Proficient in Excel and Word, with advanced Excel skills required
- Strong 10-Key data entry
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
