Position Summary
Responsible for general bookkeeping activities and practices in the office and to participate in reviewing and analyzing financial procedures and records by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains all related accounting and bookkeeping records and accounting files in a neat, orderly manner.
- Prepares budget modifications for the Programs on a routine basis. Meets with the Directors to go over modifications. Submits Modifications to DFTA and monitors the status.
- Compiles, retrieves and updates accounting information on computer in an efficient and timely manner.
- Prepares and posts daily cash receipts to the appropriate account in computer and maintains bank deposit slips in chronological order. Assists with the monitoring of cash balances. Prepares wire transfers as needed.
- Prepares billings for various Federal, State and Local grants.
- Prepares journal entries and adjustments to the general ledger as needed and account reconciliations.
- Generates and submits accounting reports and routine financial statements after review for accuracy. Meets with Program Directors to review Financial Actual to Budget Comparison results.
- Reviews a summary of account payables and receivables on a monthly basis for various grants.
- Experienced with accounting software (QuickBooks and Fund EZ)
- Maintains an accurate bookkeeping balances and reports any problems or discrepancies to management.
- Completes all required tax forms and tax returns (990’s and Char 500’s) and meets deadlines in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Calculates Pension Plan contributions on a monthly basis and ensures that payments are made.
- Assists with Audits and schedules.
- Operates standard office equipment efficiently to include:
- multi-line telephone
- facsimile machine
- photocopy machine
- computer and printer
- calculator
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- BA or BS in accounting or related field
- Excel and Word proficient
